Today was all about slowing down and giving my body the chance to recover. π The last two weeks have been an emotional and physical whirlwind, and I could definitely feel it. I woke up exhausted, achy, and knowing I needed to listen to what my body was trying to tell me. π
So that’s exactly what I did.
I spent part of the day curled up with a good book and finished Book #47 for the year! ππ Of course, I couldn’t stop there, so I also started Book #48 while I was at it. Once I get into a good book, it’s hard to put it down! πβ
I also carved out some time to work on new designs for my business. π¨β¨ I know it’s only July, but when you’re a crafter, you have to stay a few seasons ahead. ππ The holidays will be here before we know it! I have a fun new product in the works, along with some football season designs that I’m excited to share when they’re ready. π Creating has been a wonderful distraction and a great way to keep my mind busy through everything that’s been happening.
This evening, I spent some time relaxing on our patio while grilling chicken for dinner. ππ As a side dish, I grilled two peppers and an eggplant fresh from my garden, and they were absolutely delicious! π«π There is just something special about eating food you’ve grown yourself. It always seems to taste so much better than anything from the grocery store. π±β€οΈ

The garden has been incredibly generous this weekend. πΏ Over the last two days, I’ve harvested lots of peppers, both cherry and slicing tomatoes, and even a couple of small cucumbers. π π₯ It has definitely been a successful harvest weekend, and I’m so grateful for everything the garden is producing.

This week, we’re hoping Dad will finally be able to begin therapy and start getting his body moving again. πβ€οΈ It’s been a long wait, and we’re all anxious to see him make progress. Recovery isn’t easy, but we’re hoping this is the next step toward getting him stronger. Mom and I plan to visit him tomorrow, and we’re looking forward to hopefully seeing some positive changes.
As much as I wanted to accomplish more today, I’m reminding myself that rest is productive too. π Sometimes the best thing we can do is slow down, recharge, and prepare ourselves for whatever tomorrow brings.
Here’s hoping this week brings healing, progress, and a few more reasons to smile. β€οΈβ¨
