This weekend has been full of amazing things for a change! First of all… it’s a three day weekend! And really, what is better than that?
Well… I will tell you!
For those of you who know me personally, you know I have been battling with student loan companies and the Department of Education for years regarding my eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness. To say it has been a nightmare would be an understatement. For the last 15 years, it has been filled with stress, frustration, paperwork, heartache, and endless uncertainty.
Then yesterday, something happened that I almost still cannot believe.
I received an email from my loan servicer that read: “Congratulations, your student loans have been FORGIVEN by the Department of Education!”

I literally broke down in tears.
After years of fighting, advocating, worrying, and wondering if this day would ever come… it finally did. The weight I have carried for so long suddenly felt lighter. My years of heartache, stress, and anxiety surrounding this chapter are finally over. Persistence paid off, and honestly, I am still trying to wrap my head around it all.
And if I am being completely real, this felt like something I truly deserved for a change. Life has handed me more than my share of difficult seasons, and sometimes you begin to wonder when something good will finally come your way. This weekend reminded me that good things can still happen, even after long battles and hard chapters. Maybe this was the reminder I needed that perseverance matters and that sometimes blessings arrive when you least expect them.
As if that incredible news wasn’t enough, this weekend also brought some of my favorite kind of therapy… gardening.
I went shopping for vegetable plants and spent about two and a half hours planting this morning. And now, as I sit here writing this, we are having a torrential downpour… so I guess Mother Nature decided to take care of watering duty for me tonight! 😂

Gardening is truly my happy place. This is the season I wait for all winter long. There is something magical about planting tiny beginnings and watching them grow into something beautiful and nourishing. I cannot wait to see my gardens thrive and produce fresh veggies in the months ahead.
And the excitement kept coming!
Today, Amazon delivered an upgrade for my craft room… a brand new auto heat press! Anyone who knows me knows how much I love crafting, and this new addition is going to make such a difference. Instead of having to provide all the pressure myself, the machine does the hard work for me. With arthritis, this upgrade means more than just convenience. It means comfort, possibility, and being able to continue creating the things I love without putting as much strain on my hands and arms.

I am already looking forward to getting into the craft room tomorrow and seeing what I can create first.
But for now?
I think this girl is going to curl up with a warm blanket, a good book, and spend a little time soaking in a weekend filled with gratitude, fresh beginnings, and blessings I was not expecting.
Sometimes life surprises you in the very best ways.
