A Day of Reflection and Reset

Today has been a day filled with emotions, marking the end of a busy and bittersweet week. On the agenda: taking down the Christmas decorations, including the tree. It’s a task I dread every year, as it always feels like I’m packing away the magic and warmth of the holiday season. The house, once glowing with festive lights and joy, now feels bare and a little sad. Bella and I spent most of the early afternoon carefully putting everything away. She was my little helper, keeping me company as I worked.

The morning started with grocery shopping, where I stuck to my healthy eating plan. I’m proud to say that since January 1st, I’ve lost 6.2 pounds! I’m now just 3.8 pounds away from hitting my 10-pound milestone and earning my Tim Hortons reward—a little incentive that keeps me motivated.

To wrap up the day, Bella and I are curled up on the couch, enjoying some quiet time. I finished my first book of the year this afternoon and have already started my second. There’s something comforting about escaping into a good story, especially on evenings like this.

As I look ahead, I’m grateful for the progress I’ve made and the cozy moments shared with Bella. Wishing everyone a peaceful and relaxing evening. Thanks for stopping by to read my thoughts.

Until next time,
Julie and Bella🐾

Great job on sticking to your plan. Just think how great you will feel when the sun is shining in April. My tree is still up. I have been enjoying it so much- I used all glass ornaments this year and it’s gorgeous. I will take it down in the next few weeks. What I do to help that transition that you speak of, is I start heavily focusing on my houseplants, brainstorming my fair entries for the summer and thinking about my outside garden plans. I’m also focusing on improvements inside my house. Do you have house plants?
