Today was one of those wonderfully lazy days, the kind that feels like hitting the reset button. I started my morning with a necessary (but groan-worthy) trip to the grocery store. Lately, it feels like I’m paying luxury prices for basic necessities. As a single-income household, it’s tough to keep up. Here’s hoping food prices level out soon because I miss the days when a cart of groceries didn’t require a mini heart attack at checkout.

The rest of my day was pure relaxation. Bella and I curled up and spent the afternoon reading and napping. It was exactly what I needed—a rare chance to slow down and recharge.

But amidst the rest and quiet, I found myself reflecting on something I mentioned in my last blog: my ongoing journey with health and wellness. January 1st is around the corner, and I’ve decided it’s the perfect time to recommit to myself. I’ve been revisiting the 17 Day Diet, the plan that helped me lose over 100 pounds in the past. It’s strict, no doubt, but it works. The challenge will be making it affordable, especially with the cost of fresh fruits and veggies right now. Some of my favorites aren’t even in season, but I’ll figure it out.

One thing I’ve got going for me is my daily walks with Bella. Whether it’s a quick block or a longer mile-long trek, we both love our little neighborhood adventures. It’s a start, but I know I need to add more activity to the mix. Yoga might be a good option—something I can do at home without breaking the bank.
