Weekend Reflections: Bella’s Health, Family Fun, and Festive Cheer

The weekends always seem to fly by, don’t they? Even with an extra day off tomorrow (thanks to some dental work), I’m left wishing they were just a little longer. Still, this one was a whirlwind of emotions, family time, and festive preparation.

Yesterday was a big day for Bella. She had her annual vet appointment for shots, but it took on a whole new level of importance after I found a lump on her side earlier in the week. I’ve been an absolute basket case since finding it, but thankfully, the vet assured me it’s just a fatty tumor. There’s nothing to worry about unless it changes or grows. The relief I felt was indescribable—Bella is my whole world, and the thought of anything serious happening to her is unbearable.

After the vet, Bella and I headed to my parents’ house for a little adventure. My parents have a dog, and previous attempts at introducing them didn’t go well, but this time was different. Maybe it was Bella’s age, or maybe the stars aligned, but they became fast friends! Watching them play together, tails wagging and paws flying, was pure joy. They wore each other out completely—Bella was so tired she slept through the car ride home and didn’t stir until 7 a.m. this morning!

Today was a perfect mix of cozy and productive. For Crockpot Sunday, I made a Chuck roast with carrots, letting it simmer all day until it was tender and flavorful. It was delicious and just the right amount to cover lunch for the next two days—no big leftovers, which is perfect with the holiday later this week.

Bella and I also got a head start on Christmas decorating. Okay, maybe not just a head start—we’ve had our tree up with lights for weeks now! Some might say it’s too early, but honestly? It makes us happy, and after the challenges of this year, I’m embracing every little thing that brings me joy. Today, we added decorations to the house, and it feels even cozier now.

Cozy, decorating it this week!

It’s been a weekend of ups and downs, but I’m grateful for every moment. Whether it’s the relief of knowing Bella is okay, the laughter of family, or the simple joy of a decorated house, these are the moments that make life sweet.

Here’s to carrying that joy into the week ahead!

Bunny and Bella are so lovely 😍😍😍 I’ve got 2 dogs too but they’re in the garden. They’re big and want to run and play. 😄
