Surviving a Week of Chaos

This past week has felt like it stretched on forever! 😫Between medical appointments and Halloween, it’s been a whirlwind of stress. Halloween, of course, brought that usual dose of excitement and chaos to the classroom.🙄 The kids are always extra amped up, and it really shows in their behavior!

I was Scooby Doo for Halloween

I also had an eye doctor appointment, which didn’t go quite as I’d hoped. My dry eyes have been persistent, even with the drops I’ve been using 4 times a day for the last three months. So, the doctor decided to try a different approach and put plugs in my tear ducts.  My eyes were very sore for a few days while they adjusted to the plugs. Now, I have a new kind of drop, and I’ll be heading back in three months to see if there’s any improvement. I’m really hoping this works—I’m not sure what the next step would be if it doesn’t.

On top of everything, I’ve been battling an awful cough that comes and goes.🤧 Some days it’s hard to get through a conversation without hacking up a lung.🫁 With the time change, my sinuses have also been giving me trouble, and it’s not helping that Bella hasn’t quite adjusted to the new clock yet! She got me up early for our morning walk, which wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t 33 degrees outside. Not ideal when you’re not feeling your best.

Today, I turned to my favorite tradition—Crockpot Sunday—to end the week on a warm and cozy note.🧑‍🍳 I found a recipe for Garlic Parmesan Chicken and potatoes, and let me tell you, the house smelled amazing while it cooked! I had it going while I watched the Bills game❤️🤍💙🏈, and it was such a comfort to come back to this hearty meal after that nail-biter of a game. The Bills pulled off the win, and it felt like a reward getting to finally dig into my culinary creation. I’m already looking forward to having the leftovers for lunch all week!😋 You can find the recipe here👇

Tonight, Bella and I are just winding down, gearing up for what will likely be another busy week.
