Happy Rainy Sunday โ˜”๐ŸŒง๏ธ

Today has been one of those dreary, gray days where the sky just canโ€™t seem to shake its mood โ˜๏ธ๐Ÿ˜”. The rain came down steady, and the thunder rolled through like an uninvited guest who refused to leave โ›ˆ๏ธ๐ŸŒฉ๏ธ. Poor Bella has been beside herself all day, trembling at every rumble ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ’”. It breaks my heart seeing her so scared, and sheโ€™s been glued to me for extra comfort ๐Ÿค๐Ÿพ. Days like this remind me how much our pets look to us to feel safe ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿ•.

Bella snacking during the storm!

Since the weather wasnโ€™t giving us much of a choice, it turned out to be the perfect setup for Crockpot Sunday ๐Ÿฒโœจ. I decided to throw together a little โ€œItalianโ€ chicken creation of my own ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ—. I layered seasoned chicken breasts on the bottom, added chopped red potatoes on top ๐Ÿฅ”, and poured a bottle of Aldi restaurant-style Italian dressing over everything ๐Ÿซ—. Then I let the crockpot work its magic on low for seven hours โณ๐Ÿ”ฅ. By mid-afternoon, my house smelled absolutely incredible ๐Ÿคค๐Ÿก. Thereโ€™s something about a slow-cooked meal on a rainy day that just feels like a warm hug from the inside out ๐Ÿฅฐ. It was simple, comforting, and exactly what today called for ๐Ÿ’›.

I also spent some time in the kitchen baking a loaf of artisan bread for my parents ๐Ÿž๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ. Iโ€™ll be taking my dad to a doctorโ€™s appointment tomorrow morning, so Iโ€™ll bring it along then ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’™. Each loaf I make feels a little better than the last ๐Ÿ“ˆ, and this one looks (and smells!) especially good ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘ƒ. Thereโ€™s something so satisfying about watching that dough transform into a beautiful, crusty loaf โœจ๐Ÿž.

My new loaf!

The rest of the day was slow and quiet ๐Ÿ›‹๏ธ๐Ÿ“–. A little napping ๐Ÿ˜ด, a little reading ๐Ÿ“š, and trying to push through the soreness in my neck and throat thatโ€™s been bothering me ๐Ÿ˜ฃ. Some days are just tougher than others, and today was definitely one of them ๐Ÿ’ญ. Iโ€™m really looking forward to my follow-up with the ENT and hoping for some answers soon ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿฉบ.

On a brighter note, I do have a little garden win to share! ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒผ If youโ€™ve been following along, you know I planted garlic for the first time this past fall ๐Ÿง„๐Ÿ‚. Itโ€™s been too wet to walk out and check on it up close ๐ŸŒง๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ข, but from my bathroom window this morning, I spotted itโ€”tiny green shoots pushing up through the soil! ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’š My little baby garlic plants are officially here, and it made my heart so happy to see that bit of life on such a gloomy day ๐Ÿฅน๐ŸŒฟ. Itโ€™s a reminder that even when everything feels gray and muddy, something good is quietly growing ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ’ซ.

Hereโ€™s to another busy week aheadโ€”and hopefully a little more sunshine mixed in ๐ŸŒค๏ธ๐ŸŒท๐Ÿ’›.
