Rainy Day Adventures

Rain tapped on the windows like it had nowhere better to be today ๐ŸŒง๏ธ and honestly, same. Bella and I suited up in our raincoats for our morning walk, though โ€œsuited upโ€ might be generous. Bella wore hers with the enthusiasm of someone forced into formalwear against their will ๐Ÿ˜… Still, we made it around the block, splashing through puddles and pretending we meant to do that ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’ฆ

Today was also First Time Friday, and I finally put my birthday gift to good use ๐ŸŽ I bought myself a Dutch oven and decided to christen it with homemade artisan bread ๐Ÿž Iโ€™ve never made this kind of bread before, but it turned out to be surprisingly simple. The dough spent the day fermenting on the counter like it had all the time in the world โณ and tonight I finally sliced into it. Warm, soft, and smelling like a cozy bakeryโ€ฆ absolutely worth the wait ๐Ÿค

While the bread worked its slow magic, I curled up with some reading ๐Ÿ“– and later Bella and I watched the USA Olympic hockey game ๐Ÿ’ She followed the puck like it owed her money, ears perked and eyes locked on the screen ๐Ÿ‘€ Iโ€™m pretty sure she thinks she could sub in if needed ๐Ÿ˜„

Tonightโ€™s plan is simple: fresh bread, a warm blanket, and a quiet evening with my favorite furry roommate ๐Ÿถโœจ Not a bad way to end a rainy day at all.
