The weather has been pretty rough here all week, and today was no exception. We’re in the middle of a winter storm, with snow falling steadily and temperatures staying cold all day long. That made today the perfect kind of day for soup.
I decided to try something new and filled the crockpot with a Taco Soup recipe. It simmered away while the snow fell outside, and it turned out absolutely delicious—comforting, hearty, and exactly what my body needed on a cold winter day.
The rest of the day was spent dozing on and off. After weeks of feeling completely wiped out, I finally received a diagnosis from my doctor. It turns out I’m experiencing a mono flare-up, which explains the overwhelming exhaustion I’ve been dealing with lately. While it’s a relief to have some answers, it’s still frustrating to feel so run down.
I’ve started yet another round of steroids, and I also have an ultrasound scheduled for my head and neck this week. The doctor wants to take a closer look to figure out what’s causing the ongoing pain and swelling in my neck, just to be sure there isn’t something more going on.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this next step brings more clarity—and hopefully some relief. For now, I’m focusing on rest, warmth, and listening to what my body needs.
Here’s to cozy soup days, small comforts, and hoping for better days ahead 🤍
