So today, I turned 49.
It was a pretty low-key birthday, but maybe that’s exactly what it was meant to be. We’re in the middle of a snowstorm, with blizzard-like conditions at times, so Bella and I hunkered down and stayed safe inside. ❄️🐾
Originally, I had plans. Birthday plans. Free birthday coffees from all the local spots, little errands, small celebrations out in the world. But the weather had other ideas, and honestly… I listened.
Instead, I prepped the crockpot and set it with a turkey chili—warm, comforting, and seasoned with cinnamon and nutmeg. The house smelled like comfort. I grabbed my Kindle, my favorite blanket, turned on the fireplace, and snuggled up with Bella. 🔥📖

We did venture out for our afternoon walk because Fitness Coach Bella insists there are no excuses—we walk no matter the conditions. 😉 It was definitely shorter than usual, but it still counted. After that, we took a much-needed afternoon nap.
For the rest of the night, the plan is simple: pick a movie, grab a snack (yogurt for me, treats for Bella), and snuggle up together. 🥣🎬🐶
Was it the birthday I originally planned? No.
But as I sit here, warm and safe, I realize it was still a pretty good day.
So today, I’m holding this birthday affirmation close:
✨ Birthday Affirmation ✨
Today, I honor myself exactly as I am.
I have survived hard seasons and still lead with kindness.
My body deserves patience, care, and gratitude.
I am allowed to rest without guilt.
I am worthy of celebration—quietly, loudly, or somewhere in between.
This next year holds healing, strength, and moments of joy meant just for me.
I welcome it with an open heart. 💕
Forty-nine arrived quietly, wrapped in snow, warmth, and gratitude. And maybe that’s more than enough. 💙
