Today was all about slowing down and focusing on me. Lately, life has been moving so fast that Iβve felt like I donβt even know if Iβm coming or going. So, I decided it was time for a βme dayβ β a day to recharge, breathe, and do the things that fill my cup.
The day started with a beautiful drive to a local apple orchard. The sun was shining, the air was crisp, and the trees were filled with apples just waiting to be picked. π I used to go apple picking every fall, but the orchard I loved closed a few years ago. I recently discovered this new one not far from home, and it was such a peaceful spot. I picked a Β½ bushel of apples β plenty for snacking and maybe a pie or two! Iβll definitely be back soon to grab more for applesauce. I also picked up a mashed potato squash (one of my fall favorites!) and a little pie pumpkin that I plan to turn into some baked goodies in a few weeks. π

After the orchard, I stopped for a few groceries and then came home to enjoy some quiet time on my reading porch. The afternoon light was warm and golden β perfect for getting lost in a good book. Later, Bella and I headed out for a long walk in the sunshine. She was so happy trotting along, tail wagging, and I soaked in every bit of the fresh air. πΎβοΈ
When we got home, we shared a little snack, and I settled back into my reading nook. I finished Book #49 for the year and logged 255 minutes of reading today alone for my challenge against my 5th graders! I think I might just give them a run for their money this month. ππ

Tonight, Bella and I are winding down with some TV and cozy blankets. It feels good to have taken a day just for myself β to slow down, enjoy the season, and remind myself how much beauty there is in a simple, peaceful day. β€οΈπ
