Today, as I sat curled up with my current book π, I found myself thinking back to a conversation that happened in two of the classes I work in π©βπ«. The students are assigned a monthly reading calendar ποΈ where they need to log between 200 and 250 minutes of reading.
That made me stop and thinkβhow many minutes do I read in a month? π€ Tonight alone, I read for 120 minutes β±οΈ without even realizing it. Maybe Iβll complete a calendar of my own just to see what my total would be! My hope is that by sharing my love of reading β€οΈ, I can inspire my students to discover the same joy and escape in books that I do.

Alongside reading, I also started a writing journal π as an example for another assignment they had. The directions were to decorate it with all the things that make you happy πΈβ¨. Wellβ¦ letβs just say I ran out of room on my covers because there were so many things I wanted to include! ποΈππ

Itβs my hope that the students will grow to love writing βοΈ as much as I do. Who knows? Maybe one day Iβll stumble across one of their blogs π and smile π, remembering when it all began with a classroom assignment. You never know what little spark today might inspire in someoneβs future ππ‘.
