Today, as I sat curled up with my current book 📖, I found myself thinking back to a conversation that happened in two of the classes I work in 👩🏫. The students are assigned a monthly reading calendar 🗓️ where they need to log between 200 and 250 minutes of reading.
That made me stop and think—how many minutes do I read in a month? 🤔 Tonight alone, I read for 120 minutes ⏱️ without even realizing it. Maybe I’ll complete a calendar of my own just to see what my total would be! My hope is that by sharing my love of reading ❤️, I can inspire my students to discover the same joy and escape in books that I do.
Alongside reading, I also started a writing journal 📔 as an example for another assignment they had. The directions were to decorate it with all the things that make you happy 🌸✨. Well… let’s just say I ran out of room on my covers because there were so many things I wanted to include! 🖊️💭💖
It’s my hope that the students will grow to love writing ✍️ as much as I do. Who knows? Maybe one day I’ll stumble across one of their blogs 🌐 and smile 😊, remembering when it all began with a classroom assignment. You never know what little spark today might inspire in someone’s future 🌟💡.
