šŸ¶šŸ’›How a Pup Cup Turned a Rough Day Sweet šŸ¦

Yesterday was a crazy long day for me—but in the best way! I went to the local county fair for the demolition derby with my baby brother. It’s a tradition we’ve had for almost 20 years now, and even though the rain tried to dampen the day, it couldn’t touch our fun. There’s just something about tradition that makes everything worth it.

Because I got home so late, I didn’t get to post my blog entry and lost my streak—which was over 30 days of daily posts! 😭 But hey, streaks can start again, so here we go with a fresh one today.

This morning started off less than ideal with a call to the specialty pharmacy about the eye drops I’m supposed to get filled through them. The woman I spoke with was kind and explained that they’re waiting on a prior authorization from my doctor. Unfortunately, she also told me that my health insurance never approves these drops. Cue the tears and frustration. She mentioned an out-of-pocket program that might help, but it would mean sending the prescription to another specialty pharmacy—and waiting another week or two.

So I hung up and called my eye doctor, hoping for some clarity. After sitting on hold for 30 minutes, a very rude man finally answered. By then my blood pressure was already through the roof. He couldn’t even tell me how long it would take for the paperwork to get filed, just that it could be 7–10 business days. By the time insurance makes a decision, it could be nearly a month. In the meantime, my eyes are red, irritated, and aching. My cheeks even hurt, and glasses just make the pain worse since they sit right on the sore spots. Honestly, it feels like someone punched me in both cheeks. I’m so over these eye issues—this past year has been nothing but one struggle after another with them.

But instead of letting the frustration steal my day, I decided to take charge of my last full week of summer vacation. Bella and I made it an adventure day! šŸ¾šŸ’›

We started with a nice long walk (thank you, cooler weather šŸ™Œ), and then we went for a special treat—pup cream! There’s a local ice cream place that makes pup cups, and we haven’t been in a few years. Bella was so excited and enjoyed every last bit of her treat. I may have gotten myself a little something too. šŸ˜‰ Afterward, we came home and had a lovely afternoon siesta.

Snifferoonies around the neighborhood!

This evening, we went for another neighborhood stroll, did a good ol’ snifferoonie walk, and watched the little boy next door ride his bike. Now, Bella and I are settling in for the night—maybe with a movie, maybe with just some cozy relaxation.

Just taking a stroll!

Even though today started off rough, I’m grateful it ended with joy, puppy love, and little adventures. šŸ’•
