Today was another day of running. 🏃♀️
My day started with a visit to my parents’ house 🏡 to help out there. I stayed for a bit before heading out to make a couple of stops and then on to my eye appointment. While I was out, I managed to pick up a few crafting supplies I’d been needing ✂️🧵—always a little win!
Then it was time for my 6-month eye follow-up 👀. We all know how much I love the eye doctor. Six months ago, if you remember, they filled my tear ducts with a gel-like substance using a needle 💉. Well, that didn’t happen today.
I’ve been dealing with dry eyes ( what elese is new) and pain in my eyes and upper cheeks for over a month now 😣, but with all the running around and knowing this appointment was coming, I just pushed through. Today, I told them what’s been going on.
The doctor put some dye in my eyes to take a closer look, and the verdict? Something called Demodex blepharitis.
“What is that?” you ask? Well… apparently everyone has microscopic mites on their skin (I know—ewww 😬). Mine have decided to throw a party 🎉 and cause my eyelids to become inflamed, red, and irritated. They’re sore and crusty every morning (fun times 🙄). In more serious cases, it can spread to your cheeks—so that explains the upper cheek pain I’ve been having.
Now I have to wait for a specialty pharmacy 💊 to call me to get a prescription eye drop that’s only available through their mail-order service. No clue yet if my insurance will cover it or how much it will cost 💸. Once I get it, I’ll need to take it twice a day for 6 weeks, then go back to the doctor in Brussels!

Honestly? I’m just so over these eye issues. This has been such a rough year for my eyes! Tonight I’m going to try a warm compress ♨️ to see if it helps with the pain.
On a happier note… 😄
The garden was very productive tonight! 🌿 I had a pretty good harvest, and just look at those baby Brussels sprouts coming in! 🥬💚

Oh yes I almost forgot to share what it decided on for my side with my grilled Greek chicken for tonight! I grilled corn on the cob! It was amazing! If you have never tried it I suggest trying it!
