The Adventures of Julie and Bella 2025

Today was one of those “start early or melt later” kinds of days here at Julie and Bella’s Farm! After our morning walk and a quick bite to eat, I decided it was time to give the flower bed a little refresh before it felt like the surface of the sun outside. 🔥☀️

First up—rose bush rehab! I gave it a major trim and moved it over in the bed. It’s looking a bit rough right now, so fingers crossed it makes a comeback. 🌹💪 Then I finally planted the two beautiful blanket flowers I picked up on Saturday. They’re now in the ground and looking much happier already! 🧡🌼

After a solid cleanup and returning all my garden decor to its rightful place, I gave the bed a nice drink of water to help everything settle in. I’m loving how it turned out—but I definitely think it needs a bit more. (Don’t all gardeners say that? 😂) I’ve got some Coneflower seeds waiting in the wings, so they may be joining the party soon! 🌱💜

By the time I finished, I was drenched in sweat—shirt soaked, hair sticking, the whole nine yards. So I jumped straight into a cold shower and then curled up with my book for a little recovery time. 📚💦

Bella and I took our afternoon walk, and afterward I treated her to a little mid-week adventure! 🐾 We swung by the BOX to check for goodies and planned to pick up a prescription, but the pharmacy drive-thru line had, like, ten cars in it. Nope. That errand is officially a tomorrow problem. 😂

I ended up spending some peaceful, much-needed time out on the back patio soaking up the sun while Bella snoozed in the AC. That quiet alone time was exactly what I needed. ☀️🪴

Tonight’s garden time was bittersweet. I had to pull four of my cherry tomato plants that just weren’t thriving. 😢 But I made use of that space and transplanted two of my eggplant babies nearby—hoping the new location gives them the boost they need! 💜🍆

Speaking of eggplants—they’re growing more each day! I chose a smaller variety, which is perfect for a one-person household. Bella inspected today’s harvest like the garden supervisor she is, but let’s be honest… I think she was just checking for snacks. 😄🐶

Now it’s time to unwind with some snuggles from my favorite garden pup and enjoy what’s left of this Working Wednesday. 💚🌙
