The Adventures of Julie and Bella 2025

Ever have one of those days where everything just feels off? Like the universe is just… slightly tilted? 😕 Yep, that was today for me.

It started with a few phone calls I had to make—ugh, adulting. ☎️ One of them was to the student loan people (insert dramatic sigh here 😩). If you’ve ever dealt with that mess, you know exactly where this is going. It has been one issue after another with my loans. Today, I was told—again—that there’s a “backlog” in processing forms. 🌀 You know, the ones I submitted almost a year ago. A year! 😠 Their advice? Just keep checking the website. Seriously?! How long does it take to do your job? This whole situation is just ridiculous. 🙄💸

After that aggravation, Bella and I did our best to stay cool the rest of the day—literally and figuratively. 🥵❄️ The heat has been no joke lately. I did have to run to the store for some packing envelopes 📦✉️, and I decided to try something new… something a little scary for this fur mom. 😬

I left Bella out of her crate. 😳🐶

Now before you panic, I was only going to be gone about 20 minutes. 🕒 When I left, she was peacefully lounging in her crate like the sweet angel she is 😇. I checked in on the Ring camera 📱 while I was at the store and—would you believe it?—she was still right there! I came home, and there she was, patiently waiting in her crate like the perfect little girl she is. 🥰🩷

Because she was such a very good girl, she got a special treat! 🍖🐾 I’m feeling a bit more confident now knowing I can trust her for those quick trips out. Of course, I won’t be leaving her out for anything long or when I’m at work, but maybe someday we’ll get there. One little step at a time. 🐕🚪

For now, Bella is happily taking on her role as head of Neighborhood Watch. 👮‍♀️🐾 She sits by the window, ears perked, eyes scanning for squirrels, mail carriers, and suspicious leaves. 😂🍂📬

Here’s hoping tomorrow feels a little less sideways. 🙏 But for today, I’ll take the small wins—like a calm dog, a quiet house, and a sliver of peace—even if the loan office is still a dumpster fire. 🔥🚫
