The Adventures of Julie and Bella 2025

It’s Sunday, so y’all know what that means—Grillin’ Sunday! 🔥🍴 While I do fire up the grill other days, since Crockpot Sunday is on summer break, I needed a new tradition 😉💡 And let me tell you, today’s menu did not disappoint! 😋

I marinated some juicy chicken breasts in Olive Garden Italian dressing 🧄🥗 overnight and all day. They turned out so flavorful and tender 🤤👏. Alongside the chicken, I tossed some halved Brussels sprouts 🥦 in olive oil, salt, and black pepper and grilled them up to perfection. Even Bella got in on the action—just a few crunchy Brussels sprout leaves for her princess palate 🐶👑💚

But before the grilling fun, our day kicked off with a very unexpected twist… 🌧️⛈️

We were three blocks into our morning walk 🚶‍♀️🐾 when the sky suddenly opened up and absolutely downpoured! ☔😳 No shelter in sight, so we arrived home totally soaked. Free shower for both of us 😂🚿💦

Once we dried off and got into dry clothes 👕🧦, I carved out a little time for some cozy reading 📚🫖, then ventured into my craft room (which was finally a manageable temp for once!) 🎨🌬️. I pressed a few shirts and made some adorable bandanas for Bella 🐶🧵💗 I know it’s still summer ☀️🍉, but I needed to fill space in a print order—so I snuck in some fall 🍂🎃 and Christmas ❄️🎄 designs for future me. A girl needs options, right?! 😍👚

The rest of the afternoon was pretty relaxed 🛋️🕯️ until it was time for our adventurous second walk 🚶‍♀️🐕. Bella decided to go down a road we haven’t strolled in a while… and of course, there’s a train crossing 🚧. And wouldn’t you know it—a train was coming! 🚂😬

Bella was NOT having it! She practically dragged me back up the road like a sled dog 🐕💨😅 Talk about a cardio session! 🏃‍♀️💦 After rerouting down a different street 🛤️, we made some progress… until she spotted more railroad tracks. Annnnd back we went! 🤣🙈 Needless to say, we were both exhausted when we finally got home 🥵💤

🌿 Garden update! Tonight’s harvest included 2 beautiful green peppers 🫑🫑 and loads of juicy tomatoes 🍅🍅🍅! And guess what? I counted 8 little baby eggplants coming in! Eeek! So exciting! 💜🍆🌱
