The Adventures of Julie and Bella 2025

What a beautiful day it was—yes, still hot and humid—but we made the absolute most of it! 🥵☀️ Bella and I kicked things off bright and early with a pre-sunrise walk. 🌅🐾 It was peaceful, cool, and the perfect way to get our energy flowing before the heat rolled in.

Back home, I made a delicious breakfast, and this morning’s star ingredient was a bell pepper fresh from my garden! 🌱🫑 I chopped it up and tossed it into my scrambled eggs—SO good! 😋 Garden-to-table at its finest.

After breakfast, I knew I had to beat the heat, so I got to baking before the kitchen turned into an oven itself. 🔥 Today’s creation? A Blueberry Sour Cream Bundt Cake made especially for my parents. 👩‍🍳💙 It smells amazing, but the taste test will have to wait until I deliver it tomorrow! 🤞

With the kitchen cooled off (a bit), I decided to get a little crafty. 🎨 I made my mom a fun Buffalo Bills–themed wind spinner! 🏈❤️💙 I had plans to make one for myself too, but the craft room decided it was time to turn into a sauna. 🫠 So I called it quits and took a break.

Of course, Bella had other plans. 🐶 She made it VERY clear it was time for another walk—and she took off like a little speed demon! 🐕💨 We explored a new route, and she strutted her stuff like a true queen. 👑 It turned into a great workout for both of us!

After lunch, it was time to cool down with a little reading 📚 and relaxing… but then the baking itch struck again! 👩‍🍳🫐 I whipped up four full-sized loaves and one mini loaf of Blueberry Muffin Bread. Three loaves made it straight over to my neighbors (still warm! 🥰), and the mini one? Well… Bella and I had to sample it for quality control purposes. 😉🫣

Before we wrapped up the day, I headed out to tend the garden. I’m happy to report a harvest! 🥹 Two bright, beautiful cherry tomatoes made their debut today! 🍅🍅 Tiny but mighty—and they tasted like sunshine!

Everything was going smoothly until… SPLASH! 💦 Just as I was finishing up and about to put the hose away—BOOM—it burst and sprayed water everywhere. 😂 Honestly, it felt kind of refreshing after such a hot day, but come on… the hose is barely two months old! 🙄 My hose luck is nonexistent. 😩🚿

So, tomorrow’s to-do list: take Dad to the eye doctor 👁️‍🗨️ and buy a new hose. Again. 😅🛒
