The Adventures of Julie and Bella 2025

Whew! Today was another scorcher! 🥵 Bella and I tried to get in our usual afternoon walk, but had to cut it short—poor girl was getting too hot and needed to cool down fast. We spent most of the day hunkered down in front of the fans and AC. Well… I was in front of the fans. Bella was hiding in her crate most of the time because some people still thought it was a good idea to shoot off BOOM BOOMS. 😭 Seriously, y’all… the 4th is over!

Despite the heat and noise, today was still a good one because it was Grillin’ Sunday! I marinated some chicken breasts in Italian dressing all day and tossed them on the grill—they turned out delicious! 🤤 I also made some colorful veggie skewers, and wow did they hit the spot! We even enjoyed some fresh green beans from yesterday’s harvest. There’s just something special about eating veggies you grew yourself. 🌱💚 Bella even had a few nibbles—she’s a fan!

Speaking of veggies… I’ve got exciting garden news! 🌿 I spent about 45 minutes this evening pruning and checking in on the garden. And guess what I found?! My brussels sprouts are growing bigger! No more squinting to find them—they’re finally visible without a magnifying glass (well, at least on one of the plants 😆). AND I discovered three zucchini growing beautifully! 🥒

It was a great day for garden surprises. The veggies seem to love this hot weather—even if we’re melting! 😂
