July 5th
Happy July 5th… or should I say, Happy Bonus Fireworks Day? Apparently, the celebration continues — starting at 5:30 AM with loud, obnoxious BOOM BOOMs that shake the house and terrify my sweet Bella. 😭
She’s been curled up in her crate for most of the day, too scared to even venture outside. I’ve tried taking her out for potty breaks, but she’s so on edge, looking around like another explosion might go off at any second. And honestly? I get it.
Look, I understand people want to celebrate — it is a holiday weekend. But yesterday was the 4th. Maybe let’s cool it with the constant noise today? It’s not just Bella — there are other pets, babies trying to nap, people living with PTSD, and folks who just don’t love having their eardrums rattled every few minutes. A little consideration goes a long way. 💛
Okay… deep breath… rant over.
Let’s shift gears to something that actually made me smile today: my first harvest from the garden! 🌱✨ I picked 21 beautiful green beans, and I can’t wait to cook them up for dinner tomorrow night. There’s something so satisfying about growing your own food. The garden is definitely my happy place.

For now, Bella and I are retreating to our bedroom — our little sanctuary. We’re going to curl up, put on some TV for background noise, and hopefully drown out the chaos outside. Fingers crossed for a quieter night. 🐾💤

Until next time,
💚 Julie (& Bella)
