Day 2 of summer vacation is in the books—and whew, it was another busy one!

Bella and I kicked off the morning with a long walk to soak in the fresh air and quiet streets. It’s quickly becoming one of my favorite parts of the day. After that, I decided to tackle a big project…

🎉 Drumroll please… Yesterday I scored a $10 dresser off Facebook Marketplace! Yup, just ten bucks! It was hanging out on my front porch overnight, and today I was determined to get it upstairs. Not gonna lie—it was heavy, and those three stairs into the house were no joke. I took out all the drawers first, then wrestled it up, one step at a time. I had to pause halfway to catch my breath (and maybe rethink my life choices 😂), but I DID IT! All 15 stairs! 💪 Just need to fix one drawer and line them with contact paper, and it’ll be ready for clothes. Such a great find!

Next up was Bella Spa Time! 🐾 I gave her a much-needed brushing—seriously, it looked like I could build a second dog with the fur that came off! She especially loved being brushed near her tushie (goofball 🤣). After that, I tried using some pet wipes on her… not her favorite moment, but we’ll ease into it over time!

Once I cleaned up and started some laundry, Bella and I settled in for a bit of reading time (still loving my current book 📖), before heading out on another long walk—this time five blocks! Bella chose the route (I was just her sidekick!) and took us two blocks further than usual. She was clearly on the lookout for her buddy, Buddy, but no luck today.

Later, I worked on my top-secret crafty project (shhh… it’s not ready to reveal just yet 👀), and then it was time for some backyard bliss. I marinated chicken this morning in a garlic, herb, and white wine blend, then tossed it on the grill. For sides, I sliced up zucchini and onions and grilled them too—they got a little toasty but were still totally delicious! I think I’m officially hooked on grilled veggies… so maybe this summer we’ll kick off a new tradition: Grillin’ Summer Sundays! 🔥🥒🍗
