Today was all about slowing down and soaking in the simple joys. I didnāt have any big plans, and honestly, that was just what I needed. I kept myself busy in the best wayācrafting and reading, with my favorite sidekick, Bella, by my side.
We kicked off the morning with a long walkie, and it was beautiful out. Bella was so happy to be out and about, and we had a sweet surpriseāwe spotted our deer friend again! She was in the neighborās yard behind our house, happily munching on their hostas. I think itās the momma deer whoās been hanging around lately. Her baby is tucked away across the street, so it makes sense sheās sticking close to home. Nature moments like that always make me smile. š¦š
After our walk and breakfast, I dove into crafting mode! āļø I was feeling inspired and got quite a bit done:
- A new glass cutting board (Iām loving how it turned out!)
- A door sign for my side door (finally made it after thinking about it forever!)
- A fresh garden flag and a sweet sign for the garden
- And some fun planning for future projects, because letās be realāI never stop creating!

Later in the day, Bella and I curled up on the couch and spent some time reading and relaxing. She’s the best cuddle buddy, especially after a busy morning.
Dinner tonight was extra specialāI used the grill for the first time this season! I made my summer go-to: grilled chicken, paired with brussels sprouts, and it was so good. Thereās something about grilled food that just feels like summer, isnāt there?
After dinner, I wandered out to my garden to check on things. I couldnāt believe itāmy tomato plants already have so many buds! Fingers crossed they all turn into juicy, delicious tomatoes š And the big surprise of the day? Iāve got a green pepper starting already! š«š± That made my night!

But of course, thereās always a little bump in the gardening road⦠my poor lettuce plants arenāt looking too promising. š„¬š¢ I didnāt have much luck with them last year either, but I was hopeful. Maybe lettuce just isnāt my thingāI’ll stick to being a tomato and pepper gal š
Now, Bella and I are just winding down, enjoying a quiet evening. Hoping this coming week is smooth and full of more little joys. š
Until next time,
Julie and Bella šø
