Slow Days & Summer Vibes šŸŒæšŸ¾

Today was all about slowing down and soaking in the simple joys. I didn’t have any big plans, and honestly, that was just what I needed. I kept myself busy in the best way—crafting and reading, with my favorite sidekick, Bella, by my side.

We kicked off the morning with a long walkie, and it was beautiful out. Bella was so happy to be out and about, and we had a sweet surprise—we spotted our deer friend again! She was in the neighbor’s yard behind our house, happily munching on their hostas. I think it’s the momma deer who’s been hanging around lately. Her baby is tucked away across the street, so it makes sense she’s sticking close to home. Nature moments like that always make me smile. šŸ¦ŒšŸ’š

After our walk and breakfast, I dove into crafting mode! āœ‚ļø I was feeling inspired and got quite a bit done:

  • A new glass cutting board (I’m loving how it turned out!)
  • A door sign for my side door (finally made it after thinking about it forever!)
  • A fresh garden flag and a sweet sign for the garden
  • And some fun planning for future projects, because let’s be real—I never stop creating!
Loving my garden sign!
My patriotic garden flag
I love this cutting board!

Later in the day, Bella and I curled up on the couch and spent some time reading and relaxing. She’s the best cuddle buddy, especially after a busy morning.

Dinner tonight was extra special—I used the grill for the first time this season! I made my summer go-to: grilled chicken, paired with brussels sprouts, and it was so good. There’s something about grilled food that just feels like summer, isn’t there?

After dinner, I wandered out to my garden to check on things. I couldn’t believe it—my tomato plants already have so many buds! Fingers crossed they all turn into juicy, delicious tomatoes šŸ… And the big surprise of the day? I’ve got a green pepper starting already! šŸ«‘šŸ˜± That made my night!

My little green pepper! Grow baby grow!

But of course, there’s always a little bump in the gardening road… my poor lettuce plants aren’t looking too promising. 🄬😢 I didn’t have much luck with them last year either, but I was hopeful. Maybe lettuce just isn’t my thing—I’ll stick to being a tomato and pepper gal šŸ˜‚

Now, Bella and I are just winding down, enjoying a quiet evening. Hoping this coming week is smooth and full of more little joys. šŸ’œ

Until next time,
Julie and Bella 🌸
