The Adventures of Julie and Bella 2025

It’s the unofficial start to summer, but honestly? It still doesn’t feel like it! The temps are chilly unless you’re sitting right in the sun—and even then, it’s a bit iffy. Come on, warm weather, we’re waiting!

Today was another busy one! We started with a brisk mile walk 🚶‍♀️💨 to get things moving, then it was time to prep the crockpot for Crockpot Monday. On the menu: Olive Garden Chicken 🐔🍝. It smelled AMAZING all day, and it was so easy to make. Definitely adding that one to the “make again” list!

While that was cooking away, I threw in a load of laundry 🧺 and headed outside to tackle the garden fence. Good news—no deer ate my hostas last night! 🦌❌ Victory! As for the fence, I had to figure out how to keep it standing better on the driveway side. I ended up using some scrap 2×4s to brace it, and now it even doubles as a cute little garden entryway. Why didn’t I think of this last year?!

My Amazon trellis arrived today too—perfect for my cucumbers and beans 🥒🫘. Putting it together was… interesting. No directions for how the nesting pieces were supposed to go, and it was way too long. So, I just made it work the best I could. It’s not perfect, but it’ll do the job!

After another long walk with Bella 🐾 and a quick round with the weed wacker, I finally got to chill with my book for a bit. I feel like I need another three days off just to recover from the weekend! But the good news? Most of my yard prep is DONE! Just need to finish the patio area, and then it’s time to sit back, relax, and soak up the (eventual) sunshine ☀️🌿
