The Adventures of Julie and Bella 2025

Whew! I just got home from my eye appointment, and what a marathon it turned out to be. The appointment was scheduled for 2:00 PM… but I didn’t even see the doctor until 3:45

The nurse kicked things off with a series of what I can only describe as eye torture tests. First up: eye pressure. Sounds simple, right? Wrong. My eye was so stubbornly dry, I had to help hold it open because I physically couldn’t keep it open myself She even struggled to get the reading. Then came the eye chart—which, believe it or not, I could actually see with my left eye this time!  Small victory, but I’ll take it! She did a few other tests before I was sent off to… waiting room #2. I sat there for over an hour and a half, trying not to go cross-eyed from boredom

When I finally saw the doctor, the first thing he asked was whether I thought the bandage contact lens was still in my eye. I was like, “I mean, I think so? I haven’t seen it fall out!” Turns out it was still in—and very stuck. He attempted to remove it several times, but my eye was so dry that it wouldn’t budge. After adding some lubricating drops 💧, he finally managed to get it out… in pieces. Yep, it took tries 4, 5, and 6🤯 I wasn’t sure whether to laugh or cry at that point!

Once the contact was out, he did another round of exams. The good news? My eye is pretty much healed! ✨ The not-so-great news is that it could reoccur. So, as a preventative measure, I need to stay on two of the three drops I’ve been using—four times a day until my next visit in August 📅That’s a whole lotta drops, but if it keeps me from going through this again, I’m in!

He also warned me that my eye will be blurry for the next couple hours 👓and told me to call immediately if anything feels off ☎️ So, daily eye-check-ins are now part of my routine.

Overall, I’m calling it a good visit—with a few hiccups and a lot of patience required. I’m beyond grateful for all the positive vibes, prayers, and kind words throughout the week ✨ It really helped carry me through 💖

Now, I’m off to cozy up with my audiobook, my reward iced coffee ☕️❄️, and some well-deserved Bella snuggles 🐾 Nothing better after a long day. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be able to read an actual book again! 📚
