Day one of living in a world of sound has been both exhilarating and overwhelming. How do you explain to someone who has always heard what it’s like to hear for the very first time at 48? 🤯💙
Some sounds have brought pure joy 😊🎶, while others have been so intense that I wished for silence again 🤯🔇. At school, I was shocked by how loud the kiddos really are! 👧🧒📢 Their voices, their laughter, even their footsteps—it was all so much! But their voices also carried something new, something beautiful that I never knew I was missing. 💕
Coming home was another adventure. The kitchen felt noisy 🍽️💦—water rushing from the faucet, dishes clanking, the sudden thunk of ice dropping in the freezer 🧊😳. Even my own footsteps on the hardwood floor sounded strange 👣.
And then there’s Bella 🐶—my sweet, noisy Bella! Her nails clicking on the floor, her collar jingling, her excited squeaky toys 🦴🎾, and even the crunch of her food—it’s all so new, so alive! 🐕💛
I know this adjustment will take time ⏳, but for now, I’m embracing every sound, every new experience, every moment of this journey. 🎶💫 Here’s to a world I never knew, but am finally hearing for the first time. 💖👂✨
