From the time I was a little girl, I dreamt of being a mom. I envisioned cradling a baby in my arms, hearing their laughter, and sharing the kind of unconditional love only a parent and child can know. But as life unfolded, it became clear that this dream wasn’t in God’s plan for me. The realization that I would never know the love of a child was a painful one. It took time—years, even—but I’ve come to accept it, as hard as it is. 💔
Then, five years ago today, my life changed in the most unexpected and beautiful way. Five years ago, I met Bella.

I adopted Bella from a local rescue group, and from the moment our eyes met, there was an instant connection—a spark of understanding, love, and belonging. She wasn’t just a dog; she was my little one. My baby girl. My heart.

Bella has brought so much joy, love, and purpose into my life. She’s not human, but she is my everything. Together, we’ve shared countless walks, adventures, and quiet snuggles. She has been my rock, my comfort, and my constant companion.

During the COVID lockdown, Bella became more than just my pet. She became my teaching assistant and, in many ways, the class mascot. While I taught from home, she sat faithfully by my side, bringing smiles to my students’ faces during an otherwise challenging time.
She’s been there for me through life’s toughest days, her love and devotion giving me the strength to keep going. Bella isn’t just a dog—she is my family, my light, and my reason to smile every day.

Today, as I celebrate five years with her, I am filled with gratitude. Bella may not have been part of my original dream, but she has given me a love I never knew I needed. She has filled my heart in ways I never thought possible.

Happy Gotcha Day, Bella. Here’s to many more years of walkies, snuggles, and adventures together. I love you to the box and back. 🥰
