Home Sweet Home

Today was one of those days—a long, exhausting one that left me drained. But as soon as I walked through the door, all of that melted away because I was finally back where I belong. Bella, my sweet girl, clearly missed me as much as I missed her. She’s been curled up on my lap for the last hour, as if to say, “Don’t leave me again!” Honestly, moments like this make everything better.

I’m so grateful for my job, but let’s be real—there are days that feel tougher than others. Today was one of those days. Still, being able to come home to Bella and unwind makes even the hardest days worthwhile.

Speaking of updates, I’m now six days into my New Year’s plan, and I’m proud to say I’m still going strong! There have been moments when I was tempted to indulge in things I shouldn’t, but I stayed committed. My first goal is to lose 10 pounds, and once I hit that milestone, I’m treating myself to a Tim Hortons iced coffee. (Their iced coffee is seriously the best, and the thought of it is keeping me motivated!)

For now, Bella and I are going to relax and savor a quiet evening together. Wishing you all a peaceful night—take care of yourselves!

One thing I enjoyed about the covid experience was the amount of time we spent together as a family- my college/ high school boys hated the restrictions and were going bonkers, and after I while I was too, but there was something to be said for getting back to basics. I learned a lot from that time and I have held it deep in my heart- family first- strong traditions- making the most of every experience and loving hard.

It’s hard to leave our fur babies. I am lucky in that my husband is retired so my two are not alone much- when they are they act appalled though lol. Count down the days to the weekend and then the next holiday break.
I really really try to make work secondary in my head- because if I make it my focal point- I lose myself. I make sure I keep my family plans heavy- make my home inviting and I am always planning and preparing for the next time my older boys are coming into town, our next trip and even our next movie night. It makes the days more enjoyable.
