What makes a good neighbor?
I’ve been pretty lucky throughout my life when it comes to neighbors. No matter where I’ve lived, I’ve been surrounded by some pretty amazing people. So, when I came across today’s writing prompt, I knew I had to share my thoughts on what makes a great neighbor.
To me, a great neighbor is someone you can rely on, someone who steps up and helps out in small but meaningful ways—without being asked. It’s those little gestures that really make a difference. In my neighborhood, we’re all about that. Whether it’s mowing the lawn for a neighbor, clearing snow in the winter, or just offering a helping hand when needed, we all have each other’s backs.
One of my favorite ways to show neighborly love is through cooking and baking. I truly believe that food is one of the best ways to share joy and love with others. Whether it’s fresh-baked pumpkin bread, homemade applesauce, or any of my other culinary treats, I love spreading a little happiness with my neighbors.
Another thing I absolutely love about my neighborhood? Everyone adores my sweet Bella. Whenever we’re out for walks, she’s showered with scritches and love from all the friendly faces we meet. It’s such a heartwarming feeling to see how much they care for her too.
In a world that can sometimes feel distant, it’s comforting to know that our little community is built on kindness, trust, and a whole lot of love.
