What is the most important thing to carry with you all the time?
Today’s prompt 🤔 what is the most important thing you carry with you every day…. 🤔
There are a few things I carry with me every day—my driver’s license, my keys, and one very special penny 🪙 with a heart cut out of the middle. This little piece of copper has been with me for over 30 years, a constant reminder of the love and bond I shared with my grandma.
It was three decades ago when I lost her 😔. She was very sick and spent a long time in the hospital. It was during that time she had this penny sent home to me. It wasn’t just a penny, but a symbol of her love, her heart ❤️. I used to wear it on one of her necklaces, close to my own heart, until the necklace broke beyond repair.
Since then, I’ve carried the penny with me wherever I go. I truly believe that the heart cut into the penny is my grandma’s heart, always with me, watching over me 👼. It’s more than just a keepsake; it’s a connection to her, a way of keeping her memory alive.
Not a day goes by that I don’t think of her. I miss her terribly, but carrying this penny gives me comfort. It reminds me that no matter what, she’s always with me in spirit ✨.
I cherish this penny now just as much as I did the day I received it. It’s a symbol of love, memory, and the enduring bond between us. I can only hope that in the years since she passed, I’ve made her proud. And though I can’t hold her hand or hear her voice, I know she’s with me, always, in the heart of a penny 💖.
